News

Good morning. My name is Francisco Goffard and here I am for Shigi Pigi News. The first 100- day  government of the President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, are over and with this everybody wanders if she and her ministers have fulfilled the promises that she made in her campaign.

The promises in the beginning of the campaign were 50, but as time went by they increased to 56. During the first 50 days of government she achieved only a 27% ,being only  15 reformes  in total implemented. But last week, the official website of the government stated that  91% of her reformes were completed and that  9% of them were still in process, showing as an  example the educational reforme  that was her main idea. Because of these, there is controversy among the citizens of the country since there are promises which haven't been completed yet. Some of the reforme  areas that have been implemented are Health Care, Public Safety, Culture, Sports and Social Policies and many others  like the new Tax System .

Some comments of people involved are for example the ones made by José Miguel Insulza who said he has seen a government that in  five months has worked fully satisfactory  to get their aims and  he also added that in Chile a discussion on  tax reformes was being held. At the same time ,he informed that  education issues  were  just starting to be sorted out.
Another person involved in this reformes is  José Francisco Garcia who said that the government promises were easy to accomplish, since most were just the kickoff of structural changes.

Gloria de la Fuente said that the reformes made are a way to follow and that the  government is right with all the changes it has made.
